Teaching moment
Just started my
substituting journey until I find my own classroom!! I ventured into a second grade class the other
day which was GREAT but was saddened at how little the classroom library was…L We had some time throughout the day so I read them one of my favorite
books by James Marshall and Harry Allard.

They loved the book and were intrigued the whole
time. I got to have my own teacher moment with them to discuss drawing
conclusions which they had not learned at all this year…L so I took a few minutes and discussed it with them. They loved to pick
out the clues to help them draw their conclusion. This just reassured to me how
important mentor text to help teach students. That spawns from my AWESOME
mentor I had in my student teaching this last year…

Well
folks, I’m all done with my student teaching. Now the fun
starts with searching for a teaching job. I can’t believe that I am at this moment in my life.
Not many jobs here in Pa. I can’t wait to take my journey to teach students and
use all of these great ideas I find from all the awesome teacher blogs.

Well, only 29 more days till I graduate. So super excited!!! I am starting my teaching journey much later in life than most but I am eager to start that journey. I started applying for jobs today so we will see where they go from here.
I am learning about this new blog thing and I love the blogs I follow. They are a great inspiration to me. I am hoping I can be half of a blogger like all of you.
I will keep you posted on my job search.
